This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the UPRISE mobile application (the "App"). Please read this policy carefully.
Information We Collect
Personal Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address
- Password (encrypted and never stored in plain text)
- Account creation date
Health & Wellness Data
As a mental wellness app, we collect the following sensitive data that you voluntarily provide:
- Mood logs โ daily mood ratings (1โ5 scale) and mood entries you record
- Habit completion data โ which wellness habits you completed and when
- Streak information โ how many consecutive days you have completed habits
- Achievement data โ milestones and badges you have earned
- Weekly wellness reports โ aggregated mood and habit data we generate for you
This data is used solely to provide you with your wellness insights and is never sold or shared with third parties for advertising purposes.
Usage Data
We automatically collect:
- Alarm times and settings
- Mission completion records (Photo, Math, Memory, Gratitude, Shake, Squat)
- App usage statistics
- Device type and operating system
Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not access your contacts
- We do not access your photos except when you voluntarily take a photo to complete a Photo alarm mission โ these photos are not stored on our servers
- We do not track your location
- We do not collect payment information directly (handled by Apple App Store)
- We do not share your mood or health data with advertisers, employers, or insurers
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the App functionality
- Send alarm notifications and streak at-risk reminders
- Display your mood trends and wellness insights in Weekly Reports
- Track your habits, streaks, and achievements
- Improve app performance and user experience
- Communicate with you about updates and features
- Process your subscription (Premium features)
- Provide customer support at support@myuprise.app
Mood & Mental Health Data
We take your mental health data seriously. Specifically:
- Your mood data is private by default. It is only visible to you.
- We do not use your mood data for advertising.
- We do not sell your mood or health data to any third party.
- We do not share your mood data with employers, insurance companies, or government agencies.
- Your mood data is stored securely and encrypted on Supabase servers.
- You can delete all your mood data at any time by deleting your account.
Notifications
We send the following types of push notifications:
- Alarm notifications โ at the times you schedule your alarms
- Streak at-risk reminders โ at 8:00 PM if you have a habit streak of 3+ days and have not completed that habit today
- Achievement notifications โ when you unlock a new badge milestone
- App update notifications โ important product announcements (infrequent)
You can disable all notifications at any time in your device settings or in Settings โ App Settings โ Notifications inside UPRISE.
Data Storage and Security
Where We Store Data
Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers located in the United States.
Security Measures
- Encryption of passwords (never stored in plain text)
- Secure HTTPS connections for all data transmission
- Row-level security policies in our database
- Access controls and authentication via Supabase Auth
- Regular security updates
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time, which will remove all your personal data including mood logs, habit data, and achievements from our servers within 30 days.

We use Supabase for user authentication, database storage (habits, mood logs, achievements, completions), and real-time data synchronization.

Your Rights
You have the right to:

- Delete your account and all associated data (including mood logs)

- Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account
Children's Privacy
UPRISE is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@myuprise.app and we will promptly delete it.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to know what personal information is collected
- Right to know whether personal information is sold or disclosed and to whom
- Right to delete personal information
- Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information โ we do not sell your data
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights
International Users
If you are accessing the App from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located. By using UPRISE, you consent to this transfer.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
- Posting the new Privacy Policy in the app
- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document
- Sending you an email notification for material changes that affect how we handle your data
Data Deletion Request
To delete your account and all associated data (including all mood logs, habit data, streaks, and achievements):
- Open the UPRISE app
- Go to Settings
- Tap "Delete Account"
- Confirm deletion
Or email us at support@myuprise.app with the subject "Delete My Account". We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
